Edwards House
Location: Fort Collins, CO
Size: 5,200 SF
Nestled in the heart of Old Town sits the historic Edwards House, a luxurious boutique inn fusing modern elegance with Victorian charm. Built in 1904, this Neo-classical “Denver” foursquare was eventually converted into a bed and breakfast that lacked appeal to the modern traveler. Seeking to grow revenue for the owners, design intent was focused on two objectives, increasing function for both the staff and guests and re-establishing the inn’s identity as a luxury experience. Extensive upgrades to each guest suite included enhanced acoustic privacy, added ensuite bathrooms, gas fireplaces, integrated technology and premium linens. To support the back of house operations, the kitchen and laundry room were doubled in size with new commercial grade appliances. Additionally, the underutilized lower level was converted to a conference and training center with a private entrance and bathroom to be rented out to local businesses. Throughout all renovations, emphasis was placed on preserving and restoring key original features of the house including millwork, flooring, doors, windows, hardware and the parlor fireplace.
